What is the MSELASummit?

The MSELASummit is a back-to-school virtual conference hosted each summer by Laura Kebart, M.Ed. and that features interviews and trainings with experienced teachers who believe in achieving an actual harmony between teaching and living.

This year's BIG FOCUS is on show-n-tell strategies for increasing student engagement throughout the most common reading and writing units we teach in the middle school grades: fiction, nonfiction, expository, argument, persuasion, poetry, and drama.

We're also dedicating an ENTIRE DAY to what to teach the first day, first week, and first month of the school year before we dive into the unit topics.

Each day of the MSELA Summit is organized by topic so you can pick and choose which day(s) you wish to attend to best prioritize your needs as a teacher. You can attend one session, one day, or all the sessions each day!

The topics, ideas, freebies, and action steps you will learn over these five days are all designed to help you get organized, set up your classroom, and engage your middle school ELA students in a realistic way all year long that allows you to enjoy life outside the classroom.

⭐️By the end of the event, you'll know what you're doing this coming school year⭐️

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the MSELA Summit for? The MSELA Summit is designed for an audience of both new AND experienced Middle School ELA Teachers. These are reading and writing (English / Language Arts) teachers who desire actionable, realistic strategies and ideas to implement not just at the beginning of the school year, but all year long!

As Middle School ELA teachers, we have our own special needs that other content areas or grade levels just don't deal with. No one person has all the answers, but pulling together an incredible team of teachers from all over the country with a diverse amount of experiences, knowledge, and backgrounds, will provide the BEST professional opportunity to learn and implement new strategies that grow your students while helping you teach and live with joy this year.

If you are ready to start your teaching journey (or if you've been at this a while and need to restart with a fresh perspective from teacher experts who GET IT), then this virtual conference is perfect for you!

Does it include a Professional Development (PD) certificate? With your All-Access Pass, you get 30+ hours of PD certificates to serve as a record of your time. This is a fantastic way to not only learn what you personally want to learn as you start prepping for the new school year, but also to serve as documentation that you can add to your continuing education files!

What if I have plans, appointments, or if I just can't view all the sessions at once? You have 24/7/365 access to the sessions until July 2023. You can watch at your own pace and you can re-watch your favorites (so helpful when you see something in July or August but you don't want to implement it in your class until March--you can re-watch as much as you wish!). Plus, with the All-Access Pass, you get dozens of classroom resources to use all throughout the year on top of the other MSELA Summit bonuses.
